The cover is a design by Harold Jones (1904 – 1992), an artist, illustrator and author of children’s books. published by Judd Street Gallery.

The design was originally an endpaper for the book The Compass Points North, by M E Atkinson, published in 1938.

Judd Street Gallery papers are published by artist and art historian Alan Powers. While many of the patterns are by artists who had Curwen Press connections, these designs were not ever produced as papers by Curwen. Most of the Judd Street Gallery papers are happily still in print and you can buy them from JuddStreetPaper on Etsy.
