The leather cover for this book was purchased as commercial leather 'seconds' - I presume it was originally intended for handbags. There are no imperfections that I can perceive, but I am not a handbag specialist!  It is difficult to photograph as there are reflective colours all over the surface and it changes its appearance according to the way you hold it up to the light.
