Commonplace Books
A Commonplace Book is a way of recording quotations, observations, lists, poems, wise insights, and fragments of language that strike you, as well as sketches and original writing. This style of notebook dates back to the 16th century - it’s not a formal journal, but a miscellaneous collection that creates a trace of what catches your interest or imagination, perhaps over a number of years.
The books listed all have plain paper unless otherwise indicated.
